DIRECTIONS

The most convenient way to get to Skye is across the bridge from Kyle of Lochalsh to Kyleakin

  1. At the roundabout immediately after the bridge, turn right on to the A87 towards Portree and Broadford.
  2. After 9 miles you will reach Broadford where there is a Supermarket and a 24 hour petrol station. Continue straight through on the A87 towards Portree.
  3. After 16 miles at the Sligachan Hotel, branch left at the sign for Dunvegan, on to the A863.
  4. After 12 miles on the A863, the road heads inland up a long sea inlet. You will see the three cottages across the bay. The road crosses this inlet by a causeway leading on to a bridge. Immediately over the bridge, the B885 goes right to Portree.
  5. Carry straight on and 150 metres after this right turn you pass a sign for Balgown. After another 100 metres, just before climbing the hill, look for a narrow entrance on the right, sign-posted Bracadale Holiday Cottages.
  6. If you come to the sign for Struan, you have gone too far and should turn round back down the hill and you will find us on the left at the bottom.
  7. Alternatively, you may catch the Caledonian MacBrayne seasonal car ferry from Mallaig to Armadale, (http://www.calmac.co.uk) or the small private ferry - also seasonal - from Glenelg to Kylerhea. In this case you should head for Broadford and follow the directions, above, from there.
