TERMS OF LETTING
Please read the following information carefully as it will help make your own holiday run more smoothly and will also benefit those who use the cottage after you.
Numbers of Occupants
The cottages accommodate a maximum of five people. This number must not be exceeded.
Entry and Departure
You can have access to your cottage from 4 pm on the first Saturday of your holiday. If this is very inconvenient to you, please ask and we might be able to give and take a bit on entry time. Departure is 10 am on the last Saturday of your holiday.
Payment
When booking, you are required to pay a deposit of £100 for each week of your holiday to confirm your booking. The balance is then due six weeks before the start of your holiday. Non-UK bookings need no deposit, but payment in full should be made eight weeks before the start of your holiday. Cheques in Sterling, should be made payable to “I. Emerson”. If you would prefer to make a Direct Bank Transfer, we will provide bank details. (Non-UK banks will make a charge for this.) If payment is made by Paypal please add a 4% handling fee to your payment.
Cancellation
In the event of your having to cancel within six weeks of your arrival date, we shall do our best to re-let the cottage. If we’re successful we will refund all monies paid less an administration charge of £20.00, but if not, all pre-payments will be retained. You are strongly advised to insure against the possibility of cancellation. In the highly unlikely event of a cottage becoming unavailable, we will of course, return all monies.
Charges
Sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, towels, tea towels, hand towels and bathmat are included in the rental. Please bring your own beach towels. The first £10 of electricity is free and thereafter payment is calculated at the current unit rate, against meter readings . A starter load of logs is provided and further bags are available at current cost. Leave the payment for these in cash or a cheque payable to “I. Emerson”, on the kitchen table on the last Saturday of your holiday. A mobile phone is provided for local calls from the cottage. Please do not remove it from the cottage. Note mobile phone calls in the book and leave money in the box.
Care of the Cottages
You will find your cottage clean on arrival. The cottages are let on the understanding that you will look after them and leave everything both clean and tidy. Given the short turnover time between lets, holidaymakers should make every effort to leave their cottage not only clean but also in the same state of repair as they found it.
Please tell us about any damage or breakages as soon as possible, so that we can rectify the situation before the next guests arrive. Please do not replace items yourself. Small accidents, we can carry, but otherwise we must charge for damage and repairs.
Pets

Smoking
The cottages are no-smoking areas throughout.
